On 7 September 2024, His Royal Highness the Duke of Calabria, Grand Master of the Constantinian Order, accompanied by the Order’s President of the Commission for Spain, His Excellency the Duke of Linares and numerous members of the Delegation of the Principality of Catalonia, headed by its Delegate, the Marquis of Ciutadilla, attended a Mass at the Priory Headquarters of the Military Parish of the Immaculate Conception, on the occasion of the blessing of an equestrian sculpture of Saint George taking down the dragon, the work of the famous French sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet (1824 -1910). The sculpture was made at the end of the 19th century.
Don Joaquín Berenguer y de los Arcos and Don Francisco Luis Yturbe y Bosch-Labrús had donated the sculpture to the Delegation of our Constantinian Order. The sculpture was blessed by Father Francisco-Javier Orpinell, Prior of the Delegation and rector of the parish, who celebrated the Mass. The sculpture will be located in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, which is the chapel of the Delegation in the parish.
Afterwards, HRH the Grand Master presented individual medals of merit to the donors and various promotions to members of the Delegation in the Principality, for their continuing work of service to the Order and the Church. After the event, a confraternal luncheon was held.
