In the time of waiting for the Nativity of the Lord, the Alto Ionio Cosentino Section of the Calabria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George promoted a food collection, which was delivered on Monday, 15 December 2025, to the parishes of the Archdiocese of Rossano-Cariati, in the urban area of the municipality of Corigliano Rossano. The donated goods were intended—through the pastoral care of the parish priests and the commitment of the parish communities—for the most vulnerable segments of the population: families in need, elderly people living alone, and those experiencing particular human and social hardship.
This donation forms part of the socio-charitable works and witness of the Constantinian Order, in fidelity to its charisms and traditions, and takes on particular significance during the Season of Advent as a sign of solidarity, fraternity, and Christian charity. At the same time, it carries a high moral value, helping to strengthen the sense of ecclesial and civic responsibility, especially among young adults, who are called to be active protagonists in the promotion of the common good.
In the mystery of Holy Christmas, which renews the proclamation of the Incarnation of the Word and the hope given to humanity, this initiative stands as a concrete sign of the love of Christ, who draws near to the poor and the needy. May the light of the Child of Bethlehem illuminate hearts, strengthen bonds of fraternity, and sustain the journey of communities, so that the gift received may be transformed into hope, consolation, and active peace.
The initiative, carried out under the guidance of the Referent for the Alto Ionio Cosentino, Dr. Antonio Coiro, Knight of Office, was attended by Dr. Massimo Turtora, Knight of Office; Dr. Patrizia Curia, Postulant; and Carla Pisano, President of the Association Movimento Adulti Scout Cattolici Italiani (MASCI) of Rossano. The MASCI Association supported the Alto Ionio Cosentino Section in the delivery of the collected goods, as a sign of cooperation among local ecclesial associations, united by a shared evangelical spirit and dedication to service, formation, and the promotion of socio-charitable activities, enhancing the territory and civic engagement.
The parish priests—Father Nicola Alessio, Parish Priest of Mary, Mother of the Church; Father Antonio Molinari, Parish Priest of Saint Joseph; Father Domenico Laurenzano, Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart; and Father Umberto Sapia, Parish Priest of the Most Holy Trinity—expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this meaningful initiative of Christian charity and thanked the Constantinian Order for its witness of Christian love and solidarity with the most needy members of the local communities.
