On Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., the Western Sicily Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George held a conference on the theme “digital grandparents and grandchildren – From services offered by the network to telemedicine”, at the Tommaso Fazello Conference Room of the Pietro Griffo Regional Archaeological Museum in Agrigento, a few steps from the Valley of the Temples. The conference proceedings were also broadcast live on Facebook. The topics covered are very broad, from the healthy aspects of technology through the use of Apps, to rescue interventions through telemedicine, to the use of information systems and the cataloguing and digitalisation of archive heritage, as well the monitoring of students and school activities through computerisation and the use of technologies for the creation of audiobooks.
Curated by Dr. Maria Luisa Tornambè, Dame of Merit with Silver Star, Referent for the Agrigento Section of the Delegation of Western Sicily, the conference was conceived and designed by Prof. Giovanna Arnone, Dame of Office, who also acted as moderator, introducing the speakers, and by Prof. Antonio Salvatore Sciortino, Knight of Office, who also gave a report.
The conference proceedings were opened by the Vice Delegate, Attorney Carlo Varvaro, Knight of Jure Sanguinis, who read a message sent by the Delegate, Nob. Prof. Attorney Salvatore Bordonali, Patrician of Pirato, Knight Grand Cross of Justice.
