On Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., in the superb setting of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli in Rome, the great institutional concert of the Jubilee of Hope will take place, organized by the Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci Foundation. The Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese and the International Opera Choir will perform the Miserere for baritone, choir and orchestra by Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci (Borgo San Lorenzo, 7 May 1917-Rome, 11 November 2013) and the Stabat Mater for soloists, choir and orchestra by Gioachino Rossini (Pesaro, 29 February 1792-Passy, 13 November 1868). In this way, during the Holy Week of the Jubilee Year 2025, two of the most iconic pieces of the Passion of Christ will be performed, with the aim of offering a sign of peace in times of great human tragedy. Admission is free until all seats are taken.
The event is organized with the support of Fondazione Roma and San Colombano Costruzioni s.r.l., and with the patronage of the Italian Embassy to the Holy See, the Delegation of Abruzzo and Molise of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, the Italian Confederation of Associations and Foundations for Opera and Symphonic Music, the Abruzzese Symphonic Institution, the Abruzzo Region, the Municipality of L’Aquila and the City of Tagliacozzo.
The Constantinian Order, represented by the Delegate for Abruzzo and Molise, Nob. Dr. Emanuele Barone Muzj di Fontecchio, Knight of Jure Sanguinis, has gladly granted patronage to this beautiful initiative, which manages to combine important social issues with culture, appreciating the quality and value of the professional artists involved in the project.
The great event, organized by the Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci Foundation, will be presided over by the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura and Cardinal Protodeacon, His Eminence Cardinal Dominique Mamberti, Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice of the Constantinian Order and Member of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Royal Commission for Italy of the Constantinian Order. It will also be attended by Giovanni Mirabile, choirmaster; Federica Guida, soprano; Francesca Sauro, mezzo-soprano; Raffaele Abete, tenor; and Armando Likaj, baritone. It will be under the direction of Maestro Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli, creator of the great music and faith project Sacrum-A prayer in music for universal peace, one of the main sacred music festivals in the Abruzzo region, started in 2016 for the valorization of music as an expression of universal communication between peoples in the perspective of the Christian faith.
The concert in Rome will be preceded by the performance in L’Aquila at the Basilica of San Bernardino, Saturday 12 April 2025 at 4.30 pm.
