To remember the person of Duke Diego de Vargas Machuca, the late President of the Royal Commission for Italy of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, one year after his death, which occurred on Thursday 25 May 2023, the Delegate for Western Sicily, Nob. Prof. Salvatore Bordonali, Knight Grand Cross of Justice, has appointed Dr. Alberto Maira, Knight of Merit with Silver Star and Maria Luisa Tornambè, Dame of Merit with Silver Star to organize Masses in Caltanissetta and Licata for the repose of the Duke’s soul. In addition, as we have already report, the delivery of a gift to the less fortunate who are assisted by the Vincentian nuns was organized in Palermo.
These Masses, for the repose of the soul of Duke Diego de Vargas Machuca, a man and knight of great Christian and moral values, were celebrated one year after his death:
Friday 24 May 2024 at 6.30 pm, at the church of Santa Croce in Largo Badia 1 in Caltanissetta, officiated by the Parish Priest, Father Piero Riggi.
Saturday 25 May 2024 at 7.00 pm, at the Sant’Angelo sanctuary in Piazza Sant’Angelo 8 in Licata, officiated by Father Roberto Toni, O.Carm, Prior of the Italian Province of the Carmelites.
