Following the invitation which the Delegate for Catanzaro-Squillace of the Lieutenancy for Southern Tyrrhenian Italy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Cav. Luigi Vincenzo Merante Critelli, addressed to the Delegate for Tuscia and Sabina of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Nob. Attorney Roberto Saccarello, Knight Grand Cross Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star of the Constantinian Order, Constantinian knights from Calabria will participate in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre’s spiritual retreat, on Friday, 16 February 2024. The retreat will begin at 3.30 pm at the Saint Pius X Theological Seminary of Catanzaro.
After the recitation of the Median Hour, Father Vincenzo Lopasso will hold a meditation on the theme “I love you, Lord, my strength” (Psalms 18.1). Father Lopasso studied at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem and the Faculty of Biblical Sciences and Archaeology which is part of the Pontifical Antonianum University of Rome, where since 2001 he has taught courses on Biblical Theology of the Old Testament and Exegesis on the Prophetic Books. In addition, he is the Representative of the Archdiocese of Catanzaro-Squillace for the Biblical Apostolate and teaches General Introduction to the Sacred Scripture and Exegesis of the Old Testament at the Calabrian Theological Institute of Catanzaro, attached to the Pontifical Faculty of Southern Italy in Naples.
Once the meditation is concluded, at 5.30 pm, the Most Reverend Claudio Maniago, Metropolitan Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace, will preside over the Eucharistic Concelebration.
A brief moment of sharing and fraternity will follow, and then at 7.00 pm Vespers will be celebrated.
The Spiritual Retreat is intended for the members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, with the participation of a representation from Calabria of the Tuscia and Sabina Delegation of the Constantinian Order and of those who wish to know the Equestrian Order, and in particular the spirituality of the places of the Redemption. It is an invitation to rediscover the gifts that God gives to each of us, to make them bear fruit – not to keep them hidden or to ourselves but to put them at the service of the community. “Not committing for fear of making mistakes is harmful to oneself and to the entire community. We are not called to be idle Christians, but to make the gifts received from God bear fruit, no matter how much, not keeping the gifts received for ourselves but putting them at the service of the community,” emphasized Father Lopasso a year ago, in a meeting held in Catanzaro.
