On Sunday, March 16, 2025, the Second Sunday of Lent and Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus, the Tuscia and Sabina Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George celebrated the its monthly Mass at the church of the Holy Trinity-Marian sanctuary of the Madonna Liberatrice in Viterbo, Italy. In the Transfiguration, Jesus is indicated as the true hope of man and as the apogee of the Old Testament. Luke speaks of the “exodus” of Jesus, which contains at the same time death and Resurrection. The three apostles, overcome by sleep, which represents man’s inability to penetrate the mystery, are awakened by Jesus, that is, by grace, and see His glory. They hear the words of the Father: “This is my Son, the Chosen One, listen to him.” There is no further comment. They react with fear and amazement. They would like to cling to this moment, to avoid the following moment of the descent from the mountain and its burden of habit, of darkness, of passion. But the memory of this vision will help them understand, as the Preface of the Mass explains, “that through the Passion we can reach the triumph of the Resurrection.”
The Constantinian Knights of the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina, led by the Delegate, the Nob. Avv. Roberto Saccarello, Knight Grand Cross o Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star, participated in the center of their spiritual life in the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Father Massimo Giustozzo, OSA, Prior of the Augustinian Community of Tolentino, a well-known homilist. The concelebrant was Father Giuseppe Cacciotti, OSA, parish priest of the Holy Trinity and rector of the city’s Marian sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna Liberatrice.
The First Reading was read by Prof. Roberto Sangiorgi Colangelo di Villazzano, Knight of Merit, and the Responsorial Psalm was recited by the Vice Delegate, Nob. Dr. Sandro Calista, Knight of Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star.
For the occasion, the Delegate for Rome and Vatican City, Prof. Giuseppe Schlitzer, Knight Grand Cross of Merit, joined his confrères of Tuscia and Sabina, due to his close family ties to the province of Viterbo.
