On Sunday, 16 November 2025, the Sections of Agrigento, Caltanissetta, and Palermo–Cefalù–Mazara del Vallo of the Western Sicily Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George gathered for a spiritual moment of fraternal remembrance, for the solemn celebration of  Mass for the repose of the souls of deceased Confrères and Consoeurs of the Order, reserving special remembrance for the late Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, the Infante of Spain HRH Prince Carlos of Bourbon–Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, Count of Caserta, Head of the Royal House of Bourbon–Two Sicilies, on the tenth anniversary of his passing; for the late President of the Order’s Royal Commissions for Italy and the Most Serene Republic of San Marino, H.E. Duke Don Diego de Vargas Machuca, Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice with Collar, on the second anniversary of his passing; for the late Chief Chaplain for Northern Italy of the Royal Commission for Italy, Father Fabio Fantoni, Chaplain Grand Cross of Jure Sanguinis; for the Representative for Caltanissetta, Prof. Dr. Alberto Maira, Knight of Merit with Silver Star; and for Dr. Francesco Antonio Tagliavia, Knight of Jure Sanguinis. Their memory was invoked with affection and devotion during the Requiem Masses, uniting remembrance with the hope of eternal life. Vita mutatur non tollitur.


These gatherings reaffirmed not only the bond among members, but also the Order’s vocation to bear witness to the Faith, keeping alive the tradition and memory of those who served the Constantinian cause.

Agrigento Section

The Holy Mass with the members of the Agrigento Section, led by the Representative, Prof. Maria Luisa Tornambè, Dame of Merit with Silver Star, was celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Piazza del Vespro 2, in Villaggio Mosè (Agrigento), by the parish priest, Father Salvatore Casà, who in his homily emphasized the importance of memory and Christian charity, praying especially for the deceased of the Constantinian Order.

Caltanissetta Section

The Holy Mass with the members of the Caltanissetta Section, led by the new Representative, Dr. Giuseppe Anzalone, Knight of Merit with Silver Star, successor to the lamented Cav. Alberto Maira, was celebrated at the Church of Saint Albert the Great on Via Principe Galletti 90 in the San Cataldo district of Caltanissetta, by the parish priest, Father Antonio La Paglia, who prayed for the deceased of the Constantinian Order.

At the end of the Mass, the Constantinian Knights and Dames also took part in the procession in honour of Saint Albert the Great, which made its way through the city streets.

Palermo–Cefalù–Mazara del Vallo Section

The Holy Mass with the members of the Palermo, Cefalù, and Mazara del Vallo Section, led by the new Representative, Dr. Domenico Callea, Knight of Merit with Silver Star, was celebrated at the Oratory of Our Most Holy Lady of the Rosary at Carminello, on Via Porta Sant’Agata 5 in Palermo, by Father Davide Calantoni, Chaplain of Merit with Silver Star, who prayed for the deceased Constantinians, in the presence of the Delegate, Nob. Prof. Salvatore Bordonali, Knight Grand Cross of Justice, and the Secretary General, Dr. Salvatore Glorioso, Knight of Jure Sanguinis.

At the end of the Mass, before the recitation of the Prayer of the Constantinian Knight, the Delegate recalled the deceased members of the Constantinian Order.  We reproduce his words below.

Welcoming participants to the church were the Superior of the Confraternity of Our Most Holy Lady of the Rosary at Carminello, Dr. Fabrizio Portanova, and Prof. Francesca Paola Massara, expert and curator of the Oratory, founded in 1605 and decorated with stuccoes attributable to Serpotta and Ferrarello, dating between the late 16th and early 17th centuries, including The Rest in Egypt and The Nativity of the Serpottian school. A hidden jewel of the city of Palermo.

The Delegate’s Words

On Thursday, 30 October 2025, at the age of 62, after a serious illness, the Chief Chaplain for Northern Italy of the Royal Commission for Italy of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Father Fabio Fantoni, Chaplain Grand Cross of Jure Sanguinis, returned to the House of the Father. He had led with zeal and evangelical simplicity the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer and Saint Francis in Sesto San Giovanni, and for many years was an important spiritual reference point within our Order. In thanking the Lord for having allowed us to know him, we pray together for his soul. Rest in peace, dear Don Fabio.

But on this occasion we must also remember a Christian Prince: the Infante of Spain Prince Carlos of Bourbon–Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, 20th Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.

It was under his Grand Mastership—and under the presidency of the Royal Commission for Italy of Don Diego de Vargas Machuca, also unforgettable to me and remembered today—that I entered the Constantinian Order, as Vice Delegate. I always keep in my heart with gratitude the personal meeting in Rome, when he came to Italy with all his family. Very devout to the Holy Roman Catholic Church, as was his entire family, he clearly reaffirmed the equestrian-religious nature of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and its goals. At his passing in October 2015, he received a State Funeral in Spain, on Thursday, 8 October 2015, held in the Augustinian Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, where he rests among the Kings of Spain. Today we recall his memory and pray for his soul.

Next, our Confrère, Knight of Merit Dr. Alberto Maira. His memory is dear to me and connected to the activities and persons of my first commitment within the Delegation. How can we forget our mutual friend Francesco La Rocca? Alberto was not only the Representative for Caltanissetta of the Western Sicily Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George; he was a pillar of our community—an example of constant dedication, which urges us to be better every day. Even today, I seem to feel his presence here among us, in the civic and religious community we represent, on a path that will one day unite us all, I hope, in that Paradise from which he surely watches over us. Thank you, Alberto, for all you gave us.

Finally, we remember the memory of our Confrère, Dr. Francesco Antonio Tagliavia, Knight of Jure Sanguinis, of the Agrigento Section.
