In the last three months, there have been various activities of the Knights and Dames of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George in Calabria. These activities were mainly aimed at works and actions for the less fortunate, both socially and economically. We remember in particular how the COVID-19 pandemic still has consequences, heavy consequences from a work and health point of view, especially for more fragile families.
With his visit of February 2024 to Lamezia Terme, H.E. the Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, Knight Grand Cross of Justice, wanted personally to meet the Knights and Dames present in the Bruzia region, who, with new and dynamic impetus and motivated by the enthusiasm of the Lieutenant for Peninsular Italy, carried out numerous activities not only from a spiritual point of view, but also and above all from a charitable point of view.
In the month of March 2024, under the auspices of the Faith that can do everything and without which we would be pilgrims and lost in the world, prior to the Holy Easter of Resurrection, a Holy Mass of Obligation was celebrated, where Knights, Ladies and Postulants approached the Divine Mystery, while at the same time finding, after the Sacred Rite, the possibility of experiencing a confraternal moment where they can fraternize and get to know each other better. Various initiatives were carried out to support children in particular, who, despite the difficulties of illness or economic hardship, were able to experience a moment of serenity. Four facilities were assisted in the Reggio Calabria area. See: https://constantinianorder.us/during-holy-week-the-constantinian-order-in-calabria-remains-close-to-children-and-the-needy/
In Lamezia Terme, on Easter Sunday, at the diocesan Caritas canteen, the Knights, Ladies and volunteers served at the canteen and handled transport to bring meals directly to the homes of those assisted. They also donated Easter doves for the children. See: https://constantinianorder.us/the-constantinian-order-volunteers-on-easter-sunday-in-lamezia-terme-calabria-italy/
The month of April 2024 saw further activities, the first on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, where the Constantinian Order was on the front line in Catanzaro, in coordination with other partnerships and associations. The second activity took place in Lamezia Terme, because future champions are born from the practice of sports, where over 70 kits including clothing and bags were donated for the children of the Oratory. Close to children, to teaming up, to uniting under the same colours and to growing in the values of sharing and sport.
The commitment made by the Knights, Ladies and Postulants was able to build upon the commitment and enthusiasm shown by H.E. the Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, who in addition to providing important information and suggested activities, coordinated all the work. This was an important injection of trust, commitment and discussion for a territory that very dear and close to the heart of the Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, HRH Prince Pedro of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, Count of Caserta, Head of the Royal House of Two Sicilies.
