The traditional celebrations in honor of Saint Michael the Archangel took place in Vitorchiano for about two weeks, starting on Wednesday 24 April 2024. It is the most important celebration for the village of Tuscia, the fruit of an intense and wonderful year of work, which the ” Festaroli” have carried on with passion and in the interest of an entire region, which is invaded by lights, religious celebrations and processions, music and folklore. On Sunday 12 May 2024, the traditional procession and Holy Mass were celebrated at the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, accompanied by the religious, civil and military authorities, the Confraternities and the “Fedeli di Vitorchiano” musical band.
At the invitation of the Diocese of Viterbo, a representation of the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, led by the Delegate, the Nob Attorney Roberto Saccarello, Knight Grand Cross of Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star, attended on Sunday 12 May 2023 the traditional procession which, starting from the Piazza Roma, reached the lovely hermit refuge dedicated to San Michele Arcangelo, protector of the town.
The Constantinian knights, particularly devoted to St. Michael the Archangel, provided the escort of honor to the statue of St. Michael and subsequently attended Holy Mass, celebrated at the Sanctuary, which stands on a hill, reachable through Porta Tiberina and a characteristic zigzag road, “Le Piagge”.
