On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Naples and Campania Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, led by Count Gianluigi Gaetani dell’Aquila d’Aragona of the Dukes of Laurenzana, Neapolitan Patrician, Knight of Justice, made a significant gesture of solidarity, donating to Caritas of the Archdiocese of Naples over 260,000 items of underwear, T-shirts, and accessories. The items were made available by the Salerno Group Command of the Guardia di Finanza, which had previously seized them. These items are now destined to alleviate the hardships of those living in vulnerable situations. The delivery of the supplies, contained in two large containers measuring 10 and 20 meters long, took place at the Ribes Solidarity Emporium at Via Gioacchino Luigi Mellucci 52, in the Poggioreale district of Naples. It was supported and attended by Sister Marisa Pitrella, Director of Caritas and Social Ministry for the Archdiocese of Naples. She emphasized the value of this initiative for those living on the margins of society, particularly those in foster homes, the homeless, and migrants, offering comfort and ensuring their dignity: “This is solidarity.”

The Agreement

A special agreement has been signed between the Naples and Campania Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Naples —through the Constantinian Order’s Royal Commission for Italy and the San Giorgio Italia ETS Foundation, chaired by His Excellency Prince Flavio Borghese of the Princes of Sulmona and Montecompatri, Roman Nobleman, Nobleman of Corneto, Neapolitan Patrician, Patrician of Venice, and Patrician of Genoa, Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice of the Constantinian Order—so that the donations will be delivered to those most in need.

Coordination

The operations were coordinated by the military personnel of the Salerno Group of the Guardia di Finanza and, for the Naples and Campania Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, by the interim Director of Operational Activities, Valeria Pessetti, Dame of Merit with Silver Star, and by the interim Head of Relations with Ecclesiastical Institutions, Stefano d’Ambrosio, Knight of Merit with Silver Star.

Unloading and Storage

To unload the two containers and store the clothing, knights, dames, friends, and supporters of the Campania Delegation, along with volunteers from Caritas Naples, began at 9:30 a.m. to offer their time and energy for significant physical labor, all of them working under the scorching sun, especially Delegate Count Gianluigi Gaetani of L’Aquila d’Aragona, who actively contributed to the operations. By the end of the day—after six weeks of work—they were exhausted and sunburned.

In addition to the Delegate, the interim Directors of Operational Activities and the Directors of Relations with Ecclesiastical Institutions, the operations were also attended by the interim Secretary General, Nob. Antonio Masselli, Knight of Jure Sanguinis; the interim Director of Culture, Antonino Sersale dei Marchesi Sersale (of the Marquesses Sersale), Knight of Justice; Attorney Alessandro Franchi, Knight of Merit with Silver Star;  Attorney Carmine Capasso, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka, and Arch. Carlo Iavazzo, Knights of Merit; and friends and supporters of the Constantinian Order, Professor Elena Barbato, Andrea D’Aloia, Mino D’Aloia, and Antonio Fittipaldi. Along with them, volunteers from the diocesan Caritas donated their time and passion: Gennaro, Mimmo, Ciro, Pietro, Antonio, Giuseppe, Souleyman, Alessandra, and Amalia.
