On the occasion of Holy Week, a representation of the Section of the City of Lamezia Terme of the Calabria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George donated Easter colombe to the diocesan Caritas soup kitchen of Lamezia Terme, Italy, located at the interparish complex “San Benedetto,” directed by Father Domenico Cicione Strangis.
The gesture renews the commitment already undertaken with the diocesan Caritas, consolidating a collaboration that continues regularly over time.
The traditional Easter cake was distributed during meal service on the feast days and in the days immediately following, as a concrete sign of sharing and closeness, so that everyone might participate in the joy of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, with a touch of sweetness.
The initiative was promoted by the Coordinator for the City of Lamezia Terme, Maestro Raffaele Mazza, Knight of Merit, and carried out by the Delegation Councillor, Maurizio Capano, Knight of Merit, with the participation of Paolo Bagalà, Knight of Merit, and Costantino Mancuso, Knight of Office.
In addition to the Knights who made the delivery, the realization of the donation was supported by the Delegation’s General Secretary, Dr. Domenico D’Auria, Knight of Merit with Silver Star, and Francesco Maruca, Knight of Office.
The charitable initiative forms part of the works of charity that the Lamezia Terme Section continues to carry out locally, through an active and constant presence alongside local ecclesial and assistance organizations, concretely witnessing the values of solidarity and service proper to the Order.
The Delegate ad interim for Calabria, Count Don Gianluigi Gaetani dell’Aquila d’Aragona dei Duchi di Laurenzana (of the Dukes of Laurenzana), Neapolitan Patrician, Knight of Justice, expressed warm appreciation for the initiative, underlining its value as an authentic expression of the Christian and chivalric principles that inspire the Order’s activity.
