The celebration of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the celebration for those who in any way are united with Carmel to recognize the Holy Virgin as the dispenser of every grace, path and help in the arduous journey towards salvation. It is a particularly important anniversary for the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George. This year, at the invitation of the Archconfraternity of the Gonfalone, the Constantinian Order’s Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina participated on Tuesday 16 July 2024 at 9.00 pm in a solemn evening procession in Viterbo in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

The representation of the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina, led by the Delegate, Attorney Roberto Saccarello, Knight Grand Cross of Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star, honored the venerated simulacrum of the Mother of God carried in procession from the Church of the Gonfalone in via Cardinale La Fontaine through the historic center of the City of Popes, with a large crowd of faithful.

On this day, traditionally important for the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, the Delegate for Tuscia and Sabina invited all his confrères “to send a prayer and a thought to Carmelo Sandomenico, who today would have celebrated , with the same passion, his birthday and the Marian anniversary.”

Below are the remarks of the Delegate:

“Carmelo Sandomenico, who was one of the first to be part of our Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina, was a splendid person, whom the Lord called to his side too soon. Carmelo was certainly an authentic Christian Knight.

He lived his knighthood in a way that we should all imitate: with religious fervor, discretion and respect for all in the true spirit of humble brotherhood. 

I am sure that the few among us who knew him will agree with these words of mine.

We do not fail constantly to remind the Lord of this in our monthly celebrations, in particular on the first Sunday of November in union with all our confrères who have returned to the House of the Father.

I truly believe that the best way to remember him is to continue to faithfully serve the Constantinian Order with the humility and openness that distinguished him.

Dear Carmelo, from up there where you are, continue to stand by us as – I am convinced – you have done so far. We continue to feel your presence strongly and for this we thank God. A happy feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to you and to all your Constantinian brothers.

And may Our Lady of Mount Carmel always guide our path!”
