On Sunday, 31 May 2026, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, members of the Lombardy Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, led by the Delegate, Dr. Eng. Gilberto Spinardi, Knight Grand Cross of Merit, accompanied by the Vice Delegate and Representative for the Pavia Section, Dr. Gianfranco Cicala, Knight of Merit with Silver Star, took part in a significant ceremony in Pavia during which two new members were welcomed into the Constantinian Order: Franco Caltagirone, appointed Knight of Merit, and Paolo Maino, appointed Knight of Office.
The admission ceremony took place during Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Prof. Paolo Maria Giuseppe Lobiati, Chaplain of Merit, at the Parish Church of Saint Alexander Sauli, headquarters of the Pavia Section. The event represented a particularly important moment in the life of the Delegation, as the reception of new Knights bears witness to the vitality of the Order and its renewed commitment to living and promoting its ideals of the glorification of the Holy Cross, the propagation of the Faith, and the defense of the Holy Roman Church.
In his homily, Father Lobiati invited the faithful to reflect on the practical significance of embracing the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity in daily life: in the name of the Father, whose heart beats for every person; in the name of the Son, who in the weakness of the Cross reveals God’s saving love and rises victorious over death; and in the name of the Holy Spirit, the living force that sustains Christian witness in the ordinary circumstances of life. “Let us celebrate,” Father Lobiati concluded, “the outpouring of the beauty and newness of God, a God who creates and recreates humanity in His own image and likeness.”
God, in His deepest reality, is a communion of love freely given to humanity, inviting men and women to share in His own divine life. Although it is difficult to comprehend why He should care so profoundly for us, the Father revealed His love by sending His Son while we were still sinners, so that we might receive new life in the Spirit. Christ neither imposes Himself nor compels anyone; He entrusts Himself to the freedom of each person. We may ignore Him, but we cannot erase His presence as God made man, who saves and forgives. Those who reject the Faith distance themselves from salvation, while those who open themselves to His love discover in Christ the answer to the deepest aspirations of the human heart.
In Christ, redemption and grace are fulfilled: the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer, transforming and conforming him to Jesus Christ. This new life, destined to reach its fullness beyond time, already begins in the present and is the eternal life promised by the Gospel. For this reason, Christians are called to listen to the Holy Spirit, to trust in His Word, and to allow themselves to be guided by the fire of His love, which renews the heart and leads to full communion with God.
During the Eucharistic Celebration, Father Lobiati blessed the church mantles of the newly admitted Knights, a visible sign of their membership in the Order and of their commitment to live faithfully according to the spiritual and charitable values of the Sacred Constantinian Militia.
At the conclusion of Holy Mass, the Delegate, assisted by the Vice Delegate, presented the newly admitted Knights with their diplomas of appointment bearing the signature of the Grand Master, H.R.H. Prince Don Pedro of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, Count of Caserta, Head of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies.
The presentation of the diplomas marked the culmination of the ceremony, formally sealing the admission of the new Knights into the Constantinian Order and their incorporation into the great Constantinian family, called to bear witness in contemporary society to the values of the Gospel through prayer, service, and charity.
Franco Caltagirone and Paolo Maino received their diplomas of appointment from the hands of the Delegate, thus beginning their journey of service within the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.
