On Saturday, 21 March 2026, the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George experienced a day of intense spirituality and beauty in preparation for Holy Easter, at the Sacro Monte of Varallo, in the Valsesia. It is a place where faith, history, art, and nature come together in a reality that leaves no one indifferent and which, precisely because of these unique characteristics, was particularly dear to great saints such as Saint Charles Borromeo, Archbishop of Milan.

Having reached the heart of the Lenten journey—a time of grace and conversion—the Knights, Dames, and Postulants, led by the Delegate,  Andrea, Marquess Serlupi Crescenzi, Knight of Justice, ascended to a place where every stone seems to breathe of Heaven, in order to listen to the Word of the Lord, encounter Him in the Eucharist, and allow themselves to be touched by the beauty of Faith, which every member of the Sacred Constantinian Order is called to bear witness to. A Faith that moved the hearts, ingenuity, and industriousness of those who came before, giving life to the experience of the Sacro Monte.

The gathering began at 10:00 a.m. with a visit to the group of chapels, during which Father Lorenzo Marchetti, Secretary to the Bishop of Novara, guided meditations before the sculptural groups depicting the Passion and Death of the Lord. This was followed by the celebration of Holy Mass, presided over by Monsignor Gianpiero Rampin, Chaplain of Merit, and a convivial lunch at the Albergo Sacro Monte. At 3:00 p.m., participants descended from the sanctuary to the medieval town of Varallo Sesia to visit the Church of Saint Mary of the Graces and contemplate the extraordinary Gaudenzian Wall by Ferrari, entirely frescoed with scenes from the Gospels—perfect testimony to the didactic value of images that has always accompanied the life of Christian communities.
