On August 20, 2025, the solemnity of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Abbot (1090-1153), a great Cistercian monk, was celebrated at the Abbey of Santa Maria Assunta di Casamari in Veroli, in the Province of Frosinone and the Diocese of Frosinone-Veroli-Ferentino. Venerated as a Father of the Church, he was a cornerstone of the development of Christian spirituality, Cistercian Benedictine monasticism, Marian spirituality, the development of the sacred liturgy, Cistercian architecture, and ecclesiastical and European history. He was one of the closest and most faithful collaborators of the Supreme Pontiffs and a tireless defender of tradition. He left the Church an immense legacy of Christian wisdom and spirituality. The solemn celebration of Holy Mass was presided over at 11:00 a.m. in the abbey basilica of Casamari by Dom Antonio Luca Fallica, O.S.B., Abbot of Montecassino, in the presence of the monastic community, the Mayor of Veroli, Professor Germano Caperna, and numerous faithful.

At the invitation of the Abbot of Casamari, Dom Loreto Camilli, S.O.Cist., and of the Representative for the Abbey of Casamari of the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Prof. Father Pierdomenico Maria Volpi, S.O.Cist., Chaplain of Merit, a representation of the Delegation of Tuscia and Sabina participated in the Sacred Rite and the subsequent convivial reception held in the magnificent halls of the Abbey Refectory.

It was an intense moment of faith, prayer, and communion, in keeping with the Benedictine-Cistercian monastic tradition and the profound Marian spirituality that Saint Bernard forcefully defended and spread throughout the Church.
