Representing the City of Crotone Section of the Calabria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Knights of Office Antero Villaverde and Aurelio Capogreco donated basic food items to the “Padre Pio” soup kitchen in Piazza Lea Garofalo in Crotone, next to the city’s central market, which helps the less fortunate every day. The donated food items—canned beans, lentils, and peas—are used to prepare daily meals for approximately 100 people served inside the soup kitchen and for the more than 100 people who collect the cooked food from the outside. This is also thanks to the immense generosity of the volunteers, who are increasingly motivated to dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that no one is left without a hot meal for lunch. The beating heart of the soup kitchen is its kitchen, which represents a true beacon of hope and solidarity for the Crotone community, dedicated to providing a hot meal to anyone in need—the homeless, migrants, and families in need in the city. The soup kitchen doesn’t just offer food; it’s also a haven of humanity and familiarity, where people can find emotional and social support, alleviating the burden of loneliness and daily challenges.
Monsignor Pancrazio Limina thanked the Constantinian Order, which, through the Crotone Section of the Calabria Delegation, supported the soup kitchen, demonstrating its closeness to the needy through a concrete gesture of solidarity. “The soup kitchen is a beautiful place,” said Monsignor Limina, “beautiful because it exudes the love and charity of the Lord.”
The Order’s interim Delegate for Calabria, His Excellency the Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, Bailiff Grand Cross of Justice, Lieutenant for the Southern Peninsula of Italy of the Royal Commission for Italy, expressed his gratitude: “I am grateful to the Knights of the Crotone Section for the commitment they consistently demonstrate in their activities.”
