In recent days, the knights and ladies of the Section of the Cities of Lamezia Terme and Cosenza (Italy) of the Delegation of Calabria of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George made a donation of essential food items to the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes in Rende, province of Catanzaro, Archdiocese of Cosenza-Bisignano. The city of Rende has developed strongly over the last forty years, thanks to the presence of the University of Calabria, founded in 1972, which has thousands of students coming not only from Calabria but from the entire south of Italy.
The Liaison for the Section of the Cities of Cosenza and Lamezia Terme, Raffaele Mazza, Knight of Office, assisted by Maurizio Capano, Knight of Office, delivered the donation to Parish Priest Father Germano Anastasio, who expressed profound words of gratitude to the Constantinian knights and ladies in the region. The interim Delegate for Calabria, H.E. Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, Knight Grand Cross of Justice, Lieutenant for Southern Peninsular Italy of the Order, expressed praise for the initiative: “I am happy that we are managing comprehensively to meet all the requests that come to us daily from every corner of Calabria, a sign of the great trust in the knights and ladies of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George. Ours is a small drop of solidarity in such dark and fragile times, characterized by unemployment, loneliness and widespread economic crisis.”
