On Saturday, 8 November 2025 at 10:00 a.m., a representation of the Lombardy Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George took part in a guided tour of the Special Collections of the Library of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. The visit was organized by the Delegation’s Director of Cultural Activities, Prof. Edoardo Brioschi, Knight Grand Cross of Merit, with the accompaniment of the Library Director, Dr. Paolo Sirito, and Dr. Alessia Chiesa.

In the Sala Cinquecentine, Dr. Chiesa delivered a presentation on the artifacts viewed in the Giuseppe Billanovich Consultation Room, located on the first floor of the Gregorianum building: a sixth-century wooden tablet of great cultural and religious value—because it is the only known example of the complete text of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed engraved on wood, a piece that continues to intrigue scholars; a fragment of papyrus bearing a passage from the Odyssey; and original cuneiform tablets dating back to the late third millennium B.C.

That small piece of wood, with its faint black letters visible on the wax layer darkened by oxidation, is a direct bridge to the early Church, engaged in the task of building the foundations of the Christian faith. This tablet holds enormous cultural and religious value: it places us in communication, across the centuries, with a community that professed its Faith around that very artifact—a Faith that remains ours today.
