When a simple gesture meets the hearts of people, something extraordinary is born. In some silent corners of the city of Corigliano Rossano, far from the spotlights and the shop windows full of chocolate, some small moments of humanity were experienced. The delivery of the purchased Easter Eggs, the result of a collection born in simplicity, but grown as a wave of shared affection, was carried out to the children of the Casa Famiglia l’Aquilone, of the Istituto Sacro Cuore di Gesù Corigliano Rossano, of the Diocese of Cassano allo Ionio through the Associazione Gruppo Agesci Cassano 1 and of the Casa-famiglia Sacro Cuore di Gesù. It was not just about chocolate eggs but giving a moment of celebration and normality. In a time that often runs too fast and forgets those left behind, this Easter of solidarity reminds us that humanity is built like this: with simple, silent, shared gestures. And that, sometimes, an egg is enough to make a child feel less alone and worthy of wonder, and an adult closer to his best self.

The initiative was promoted by the Alto Ionio Cosentino Section of the Calabria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, which came together around an idea as simple as it is powerful: to give a smile, a sign of closeness, to those who are going through childhood with a baggage of fragility too great for their age.

The heads of the beneficiary organizations welcomed the delivery of Easter Eggs for the children with sincere gratitude: “In every egg you donated, there was something more than a surprise. There was a message: that no child is invisible; that the community is there, and still knows how to take care of the little ones.”

The Liaison for the Alto Ionio Consentino Section, Dr. Antonio Coiro, Knight of Office, commented: “We wanted to do something that spoke of hope, not just help. Easter, for many, is synonymous with home, warmth, family. Bringing all this to three places where waiting and, at times, loneliness often reign was our little mission. When we entered, with eggs in hand, we didn’t know what to expect. Then we saw the children’s eyes, someone hugged us, someone remained silent, holding that egg tightly. In that moment we understood that Easter was there, in their emotion, in our emotion. In that silent and mutual bond that is created when solidarity is true.”

Words of praise were expressed by the Constantinian Order’s interim Delegate for Calabria, H.E. the Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, Knight Grand Cross of Justice, Lieutenant for Southern Peninsular Italy of the Royal Commission for Italy: “In the highest moment of Christianity, with a small gesture, we have for a moment given a pinch of joy and a smile to many small children.”

On April 15, 2025, the delivery of the Easter Eggs was carried out:

– at the Casa Famiglia l’Aquilone, in the presence of the Vice President Dr. Nuccia Mingrone with collaborators Graziella Veneziano, Anna Teresa Veneziano and Daniele Federico. The gift was welcomed with wide eyes and impatient hands, because for many of the children, it was the first time they received an Easter Egg all their own, with the surprise inside, just like in the stories and dreams.

– at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Institute, in the presence of the Superior Sister Queenet Ezenwa with Sister Adalgisa Ameruso.

– to the Diocese of Cassano allo Ionio through the Association Gruppo Agesci Cassano 1, in the presence of the Manager Andrea Selvaggi with some young scouts.

On April 16, 2025, the delivery of Easter Eggs was carried out at the Casa Famiglia Sacro Cuore di Gesù.
